For all you guys out there who think that "chick-flicks" are just a sorry excuse for girls to sit on the couch, stuff their faces with junk, and cry about their own sorry lives while writing it off as being emotional about the movie... you are 1. judgmental chauvinistic ass-holes and 2. completely unaware as to what is going on in you girlfriend's/mom's/sister's/chick friend's mind. Sure cliche girly girls some down the block, at your school, but mostly on TV do watch romantic comedies and The Notebook for a little over indulgence (that's an oxymoron :]) but most girls... yes like me, watch romantic comedies for the pure and unavoidable fact that... all the best actresses and all the hottest actors are in them. Ok I'm just kidding...kinda ;]. But really girls watch them because we can relate to them. They are movie portrayals of a girl's mind. They shout everything we are thinking inside of our brains... which surprisingly DON'T revolve around football, chips, video games, and action-horror films. Girls think about love and clothing and friendships and relationships and yes sometimes we think about what's going on in guy minds too. Guys who are actually in touch with the female mind are usually called faggots by their friends and sensitive by the girls around them. I think they are neither. Guys who watch chick flicks and read girls magazines are not gay UNLESS they like guys, and calling someone who is or isn't gay a faggot is a completely rude and derogatory to people who actually are and to the victim of the rude remark. In-touch males are also not necessarily sensitive because my cousin reads chick magazines and he dumped his girlfriend over myspace last week. Now how sensitive is THAT? Guys like that, in my opinion, are not sensitive and they are not homosexual. They are SMART. They realize somewhere under the hairspray and makeup that we have feelings and those feelings are triggered by the things we like to read and watch. He understands that to understand a girl he must think LIKE a girl and to think like a girl... well it's pretty darn simple since we practically broadcast it in local theaters everywhere in what has come to be known as "CHICK FLICKS". So all the smart guys out there... congratulations for not falling under the pressure of your friends calling you gay, because in the end they don't win.
you do.
